If you're aged between 13 and 18 and enjoy a challenge, the Air Training Corps (ATC) in the region may be just what you are looking for!!!
We are a national youth organisation, sponsored by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and have over 60 squadrons throughout Yorkshire and the Humber.
Our Objectives
To promote and encourage, in young men and women, a practical interest in aviation and in the RAF.
- To provide training which will be useful both in the Services and in civilian life.
- To foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
These objectives were laid down in 1938 and are as valid today as they ever were. The ATC offers you the chance to live and to experience things about which others can only dream.
What's in it for you?
You get a free RAF style uniform and undergo a progressive training programme which includes first aid, map reading, aircraft engineering principles, communications, shooting and competitive sport.
You also have the opportunity to gain experience in the air in some of the most modern aeroplanes in the world. By the time you are 17, you could have a licence to pilot your own glider!!!
This doesn't even mention the challenge and the fun involved.
