For a variety of reasons, it is often the case that cadets are unable to attend annual camp, training opportunities with other nations, or adventurous training with the cadet movement as a whole due to lack of funding. The Yorkshire Cadet Trust seeks to "level the playing field" for those with disadvantages, by contributing to their participation in the more interesting and character building activities.
Without the Trust, many of the cadets could never experience the benefits of these opportunities.
Our focus is always on genuine need, balanced against the benefit that the individual would accrue from the experience he or she is able to gain. The Trust’s goal is to ensure that each and every cadet has an equal chance to participate in all the opportunities that are made available through membership of the ATC, ACF or SCC.
The Trustees are rewarded for their efforts by the quite obvious development of the individual cadets, and this is supported by the, often surprised, delight of parents who see their young men and women developing into contributing adults within their communities.
