Reservists could not carry out their important role and train to the high standards of professionalism required without the full co-operation of their employers.
Although sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, SaBRE is an impartial body that exists to provide a readily accessible interface between employers, reservists and the MoD.
Regional SaBRE Campaign Directors (RSCD) remit is to support local employers by providing information and advice on relevant issues and to liase between organisations and members of their staff who belong to the VRF, with the aim of enhancing employer/reservist relationships.
Certificate Presentations to Supportive Employers
SaBRE aims to help companies and organisations understand the importance of their reservists, helps them understand the extra skills and abilities a reservist will bring to their organisation and then encourages them to show their support by becoming a 'Supportive Employer'.
As a thank you for showing their support, SaBRE carries out presentations throughout the year to employers where a certificate, which is signed by the Chief of the Defence staff and the Secretary of State for Defence, is presented by the Yorkshire and Humber regional SaBRE campaign director Richard Lenton.
Operational deployments mean the Volunteer Reserve Forces are more important to Britain’s defence capability than ever. Reservists provide a cost effective back up to the Regular Forces and this would not be possible without the active support of Reservists’ Employers like the companies and organisations below - the award is in recognition of this.
