Barnsley Air Cadets Lend a Helping Hand at Supermarket Bag Pack

05.02.2018

RAF Air Cadets from 148 (Barnsley) Squadron joined other cadets from all over the north region in this year’s regional bag packing event.

Customers at Morrison’s in Barnsley town centre were offered a helping hand when the cadets and staff gave their time to help pack customers bags

Between them the team raised a whopping £1,559.14 over the course of the weekend!

The funds will be split between Barnsley Squadron, North Region Air Cadets as well as Morrison’s chosen charity CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent is a charity that supports young people in their fight against cancer, a very worthy cause and one the cadets were proud to help raise funds for. The money raised for Squadron will go a long way to help fund more equipment and events in the future.

Barnsley Squadron would like to thank everyone that helped organise the event, Morrison’s and their generous customers and to the Cadets who did such a fantastic job. As always you did yourselves and the Squadron proud.

By Squadron Leader Andy Williams, 148 (Barnsley) Squadron.
