Harvey snaps first prize in cadet photography competition


Meet Hull teen Harvey Lee who has snapped his way to first place in the RFCA’s Cadet Photography Competition.

Aspiring engineer Harvey won the top prize for a photo he took of two of his friends from Humber and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force’s B Company, based in Wenlock Barracks in Hull.

“We were away at a camp for the weekend and I saw two of my friends greeting each other and decided to capture the moment,” said Harvey, who is 18 and has since left the cadets.

“I knew straightaway that it was a great shot.”

Harvey left school last June is currently working in a café in Hessle while looking for an engineering apprenticeship.

Runner-up in the competition was Ben Waggott, aged 16, who is a cadet with 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron in Doncaster who impressed judges with his photo of two of his fellow cadets.
