Pictured is HM Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Mr Andrew Coombe Esquire, as he filmed his part of the ceremony at Sheffield’s Endcliffe Hall.

The remaining three ceremonies have already been filmed and will premier at 7pm at www.YouTube.com/RFCAYH on the following dates:

West Yorkshire  – 20 October

North Yorkshire – 22 October

East Riding of Yorkshire – 29 October.

Outstanding cadets and volunteers

The HM Lord-Lieutenant Awards honour outstanding cadets and volunteers (both reservists and cadet force adult volunteers) and are the highest awards any citizen can receive other than those conferred by The Queen in her Birthday and New Year’s Honours lists.

Mr Coombe told recipients: “I want you all to know how important this evening is. The fact that this is the first time we have ever had to do this in a virtual setting, in truth, makes it even more special.”

He met the award-winners after the premiere for a face-to-face chat after the premiere.

New Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for South Yorkshire, Cadet Corporal Oliver O’Brien of Sheffield Royal Marine Cadets, said: “It’s been an amazing evening.”
