The annual Lord-Lieutenants’ Awards for reservists, cadet force adult volunteers (CFAVs), cadets and employees of the Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations of the Armed Forces are recognised as laudatory honours throughout the Ministry of Defence.
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenants are the representatives of the Crown for each county in the United Kingdom. Men or women of all backgrounds, they are appointed directly by Her Majesty the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister.
Each year, the presentation of the Lord-Lieutenants’ Awards for Yorkshire and The Humber are facilitated by Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Yorkshire and The Humber (RFCAYH) and hosted in one of our reserve or cadet units.
The closing date for nominations for the 2019 awards has now passed, each entry will be closely assessed ahead of the award winners being announced later this year.
The dates and locations for each of the ceremonies are posted below. All will take place in the evening, exact timings are to be confirmed.
South Yorkshire – Tuesday 3 September, Endcliffe Hall, Endcliffe Vale Road, Sheffield, S10 3EU
West Yorkshire – Thursday 8 October, Thornbury Barracks, Pudsey, Leeds, LS28 8HH
East Riding of Yorkshire – Thursday 10 October, Middleton Barracks, Calvert Lane, Hull, HU4 6BN
North Yorkshire – Wednesday 23 October, St Peter’s School, Clifton, York, YO30 6AB
