Medical Support Officer (volunteer post) 

Humberside & South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force is recruiting a Medical Support Officer (volunteer post) to join their Headquarters team based at Driffield in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

We expect all our cadet force adult volunteers to demonstrate strong leadership skills, commitment, and loyalty – to the cadets, to your fellow adult volunteers, and to the organisation. Sound judgment, tact and teamwork are also extremely valuable.

This role would be suited to an experienced Health Care Professional such as a Doctor registered with the GMC, a Nurse registered with the NMC or Paramedic registered with the HCPC.

We will also consider an experience advanced first aider with current qualifications and demonstrable experience in the competencies below.

You should have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Care Certificate, Advanced First Aid techniques and the requirements for medication compliance. You should have knowledge of Mental Health and Wellbeing and experience of medical planning documentation and completion of medical forms.

You will be the subject matter expert and principle advisor to the Commandant (Commanding Officer) and his Senior Management team on all matters relating healthcare and welfare for all members of the ACF whilst on ACF training and activities.

You will support and advise safety advisors, support staff and volunteers on medical support requirements and event risk assessments.

This role is a highly mobile role, you will be required to attend national and provide assurance at local events and attend weekend training events including our summer two-week residential event.

You will receive training and CPD and a national network of support through the Chief Medical Support Officer at Regional Command.
