Cadet volunteer Kellyann Martin has been celebrating 25 years with the Air Training Corps.
Kellyann first joined 168 (City of Leeds) Squadron as a 13-year-old cadet, moving up through the ranks to become a cadet warrant officer.
As soon as she ‘aged out’ she became a volunteer instructor with the squadron and quickly progressed to the rank of commissioned officer. She switched squadrons in 2009 to become officer commanding of 2490 (Spen Valley) Squadron and has been there ever since.
“My favourite thing about being a volunteer is spending time with the cadets and seeing them progress and grow as individuals is a real pleasure,” said Kellyann, aged 38.
To help her mark her special milestone, the Liversedge-based Squadron threw a party and presented Kellyann with a picture collage of her time in the cadets.
Spen Valley Air Cadets meet twice weekly on Monday and Friday evenings, 7 – 9.30pm at the Cadet Centre, Bradford Road, Liversedge, WF15 6EG. For more information or to follow the Squadron on Facebook, please Like our page at https://www.facebook.com/2490Sqn/ alternatively email [email protected]
