Wakefield Army Cadets Annual Inspection


On Monday 21st May army cadets from Wakefield Detachment had its Annual Inspection and welcomed two special guests – Colonel Jim Greenlee, Commandant, Yorkshire North & West Army Cadet Force and Sergeant Major Instructor (SMI) Butler the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of Yorkshire North & West Army Cadet Force.

The Commandant and RSM Butler spent the evening getting to know the cadets and inspected them on parade. During the final parade Colonel Greenlee made the following presentations:

Cadet of the Year – Lance Corporal Emily Kershaw
Best Turned out Cadet on the Night – Cadet Callum Anaman-Todd
Promoted to Corporal – Lance Corporal Jamie Lofthouse
2*Army Proficiency Certificate (APC) – Corporal Jamie Lofthouse
1*APC – Cadet Aaron Derrick and Cadet Jack Snaith

Also receiving a certificate was former cadet Aaron Eyre who was awarded his BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Development.

The Detachment Commander of Wakefield Serjeant Instructor Michael O’Connor thanked his guests for attending and said: “I am extremely proud of all of you; keep up the good work.”
