Reservist soldiers from the Queen’s Own Yeomanry got to grips with their new weapon system – live firing with heavy machine guns during a training camp.

Troops from the light armoured reconnaissance regiment also shot general purpose machine guns mounted on the back of Land Rovers.

Around 130 soldiers from York, Chester, Wigan and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne took part in the annual collective training camp.

They also polished up on their dismounted close combat and signaling skills during Exercise Icene Fox at Stanford Training Area near Thetford, Norfolk
