Volunteer Reservists could not carry out their important role and train to the high standards of professionalism required without the full co-operation of their employers.
All members of the Reserve Forces undergo rigorous training which develops valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, effective communication and organisational ability. This can lead to improved performance in the workplace, with transferable attributes that include the ability to work under pressure, reliability, self-confidence and a determination to succeed.
The Armed Forces rely increasingly on the volunteer Reserve Forces, and those who join should expect to be mobilised at least once in their military career.
There are over 760 ‘supportive employers’ across Yorkshire and The Humber who employ reservists. Those companies that have registered are now recognised and rewarded as part of the Employer Recognition Scheme. New Reservist and Employers Job Site Trial
Our colleagues in the South East RFCA have started a trial website to fit reservists with reserve-friendly employers. Ex-military personnel and veterans may also apply for jobs on the site.
