Cadet Administrative Assistant (CAA) – Driffield
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the RFCA for Yorkshire and the Humber as a CAA based in Driffield. You will be responsible for providing expert services in support of the Ministry of Defence and therefore applicants coming from an Armed Forces background with RQMS/CQMS appointments would be advantageous, however other applications that show suitable experience will be considered. Through their inter-personal skills candidates should be able to deliver G1/G2/G4 advice using relevant Joint Service Publications (JSPs) to Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) within our Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Salary and holiday entitlement
The starting salary is £31,179 based on Full-time, ‘All Hours Worked’ contract which is based on an average of 42.5 hours worked per week, over a rolling 17 week period. This allows some working during evenings and weekends. You are entitled on entry to 25 days paid leave (excluding public and privilege holidays) in each year rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service. Prior service with HM Forces will count towards reckonable service. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to join the Council of RFCA Pension Scheme subject to the rules of the scheme. The scheme is a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) scheme, which has a personal contribution of 5% for members.
About the RFCA
The RFCA for the Yorkshire and Humber region is an enabling organisation supporting the Army Reserve and Cadet units across the North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire region. Funded by the Ministry of Defence, one of our key and expending functions is to provide Administrative and Logistic support to the Army Cadet Force (ACF), a vibrant national youth organisation.
About the role
Those employed with the RFCA are Crown Servants. We are looking for an organised individual with excellent numeracy, literacy and Information technology skills who is able to learn new systems quickly. You should be able to work with the minimum of supervision and be capable of dealing with other military organisations. The RFCA for Yorkshire and the Humber is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the tri-service Reservists and Cadets across the region as well as providing support and assistance to the employers of Reservists and CFAVs.
Successful applicants as a condition of employment; are required to enrol into the ACF and will receive the appropriate Volunteer Allowance when attending as a CFAV. There is a requirement for Security Clearance and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as a condition of employment.
