
RAF Air Cadets from across Central & East Yorkshire gathered for a thrilling weekend of skill, discipline, and camaraderie at the annual Wing Competition Day.
Hosted at RAF Leeming, the event brought together squadrons from across the region to compete in a series of competitions designed to test their precision, teamwork, and leadership.
A range of skills put to the test
Cadets took part in a range of events including:
Target Shooting – Demonstrating accuracy and control under pressure
Archery – Testing focus and technique in a classic field discipline
Drill Competition – Showcasing discipline, timing, and teamwork
Leadership Exercises – Challenging cadets to think critically and lead effectively in dynamic scenarios
Aero-modelling, first-aid and STEM- Cadets using proficient skill and knowledge
The results are in!
After a day of intense competition and some outstanding displays, the results were announced:
1st Place: 152 (City of Hull) Squadron
2nd Place: 2434 (Church Fenton) Squadron
3rd Place: 110 (City of York) Squadron
A job well done
Squadron Leader Cheryl Kirby praised the cadets for their dedication and professionalism:
