Cadets from across Yorkshire and Humber and beyond are expected to attend an apprenticeship and career fair aimed specifically at cadets aged 15 and above.
Some 50 employers from the private and public sectors will have stalls at the event which is being hosted by the RFCA at Askham Bryan College in York on Saturday 11 February.
Cadets’ skills
“The skills and qualities young people gain during the course of their time with the cadets make them very attractive prospective employees to a wide range of organisations,” said RFCA head of engagement Phil Walton.
“So it makes sense to open doors for both cadets and employers with a view to helping them make connections that can be fruitful on both sides.
“For our cadets, it will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about the range of opportunities available in the region. For the employers, it will be a chance to meet some brilliant young people with lots to offer the world of work.”
Sea, Army and Air cadets invited
The event is the brainchild of Simon Banks-Cooper, Honorary Colonel of Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force and he will be writing to commanding officers of Sea Cadet, Army Cadet and Air Cadet units across the region. Cadets from the North of England RFCA area will also be invited.
