Estates has been very busy in the lead up to the cold season. Thanks from the team for the latest updates on the Halifax Army Reserve Centre, Hull and Belle Vue Army Reserve Centre, Bradford.
Works were successfully carried out to make one facility look brand-spanking new and alien rumours from the other were squashed when it was discovered the real reason why nine mysterious identical circles sprouted on the tarmac surface.
Halifax
The cladding had many years of algae build-up and wear and tear. The team carefully carried out a sample clean to ensure the correct level of pressure cleaning was done to achieve the desired appearance and outcome. The building was then prepped and painted with appropriate external paint, making it look as good as new. Thanks to Bell Group Ltd. for their help with this project.
Belle Vue
We had a report that the tarmac at the back of the building was forming some strange indentations that required investigating. Multiple circles all identical in diameter had appeared on the main fire escape route. After an investigation of the tarmac, it was discovered that they were large plant/tree pots that had large tree stumps in them. It is believed they were formed to prevent the spread of roots from the trees. The trees had been cut down some years ago, however, the roots remained in place and over time the roots decomposed and the ground within the tree pots sunk resulting in indentations forming in the tarmac. The pots were filled and the area resurfaced.
On call, all year
Great work by our Estates team who ensure all our building and facilities throughout Yorkshire and the Humber are at their highest standard for training, working, and events.
