Our Estates Team has had very busy this summer. Thanks to one of our surveyors, Lucy Buckley, for the latest update:
Recent improvement to Middleton Barracks
The flat roof at Middleton Barracks was ready for required makeover. Wear and tear from worn gutters meant that rainwater wasn’t draining properly and causing damage to an aged bitumen felt roof.
The works got a full facelift with a shift in roofing material to further protect the surface, new skylights to replace the old ones and a new lease on the space that has now brought more natural light and ventilation to the building’s facilities.
Further works in Cottingham
Over in Cottingham, the team worked around all weathers and between school term times to replace the roof to our cadet building.
“Due to the location of the cadet hut which was in the grounds of Cottingham school, we only had a limited period to get the roof on the cadet building. The weather at the beginning of the school holidays put the work back by two weeks. We were concerned that we would not be finished by the start of the school year, however, the sun came out and the roof was completed just on time.
Great work by our Estates team who ensure all our building and facilities throughout Yorkshire and the Humber are at their highest standard for training, working, and events.
