Outstanding cadet Hailee Rea-Crossley has been awarded one of the highest honours any cadet can achieve – appointment as a Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for her county.
His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Mr Jim Dick OBE, paid tribute to his Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force cadet corporal who he personally selected for the role.
Hailee will join current Lord-Lieutenant Cadets Phoebe Buckley (Central and East Yorkshire Wing, Hawker Blackburn Squadron) and Ben Atkinson (Eastern Area Sea Cadets, Hull) who will both remain in post for a further year.
Hailee joined seven cadet force adult volunteers, including her mum, who were also honoured at a special ceremony at 150 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps’ base at Middleton Barracks in Hull. The event was hosted by the RFCA for Yorkshire and the Humber to enable the Lord-Lieutenant to recognise some of the county’s very best volunteers.
Our deepest gratitude
The Lord-Lieutenant said: “It is a privilege to be able to pay tribute to some of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s most outstanding individuals who volunteer time to create unique and fantastic opportunities for young people in their communities.
“It is particularly a pleasure to welcome my newly-appointed Lord-Lieutenant Cadet Hailee who is a remarkable young person and someone who I’m looking forward to getting to know better over the coming year.
“I am also delighted to recognise the contribution made by the region’s cadet force adult volunteers. They deserve our deepest gratitude for the time they give to help young people gain access to the wide range of opportunities made possible by the cadet movement.”
