The RFCA for Yorkshire and the Humber is inviting employers from across the region to help mark Reserves Day by coming along to meet military leaders at a special event at Scarborough’s Crown Spa Hotel this month.
Reserves Day this year will be on Wednesday 22 June and it is the day set aside during Armed Forces Week to pay tribute to the contribution to Defence of the military’s reserve forces.
Reserve personnel combine military duties with full-on careers in the civilian world.
Forces-friendly employers
“Our reserves depend on having supportive employers to fulfil their military roles,” said the RFCA employer engagement director Richard Lenton.
“That’s why we are arranging this special event to say thank you for all that they do and invite them to meet military leaders and find out more about becoming forces-friendly employers.”
Armed Forces Covenant
Commodore Phil Waterhouse, Naval Regional Commander Northern England and the Isle of Man will be among those attending the evening Cocktail Party.
During the evening’s programme, there will be an opportunity for businesses to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, or re-sign to reaffirm pledges, with a senior military representative. If you would like more information on the Armed Forces Covenant, or would like to participate in the co-signing ceremony and photo opportunity, please contact Pauline King ([email protected]) by close on 14th June.
